Lauren M. White is a poet, writer, and spoken word artist in Cincinnati, Ohio. Currently, she has a BBA in Marketing, certification in Public Relations, and her Master's degree in Educational Studies with a focus in Higher Education Leadership. She has a passion for highlighting issues surrounding identity, social injustice, and social inequity. As a young black woman, her culture and identity inspire her work and performances. Since a young age, she has always had a deep appreciation for reading, performing, and people. She’s always been a writer and performer, however she did not start performing her poetry until she became a student at the University of Cincinnati.
Lauren remains an active member in her community through her work, her church, her school, and her sorority. One initiative that she cares about deeply is a community-service experience she created titled LEGACY, which stands for Literacy Education Growing All Cincinnati Youth. Through creativity and learning, Lauren is able to help partner college students with local elementary school students to help combat illiteracy rates and develop a passion for reading.
In her free time, Lauren loves to have a good time. Specifically, she loves hanging out with her friends & family game nights, movies, and cooking. She also is a huge fan of anything musical related.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in Xenia, Ohio, Lauren has perfect balance between city girl vibes and country girl feelings. She is the proud daughter of Shannon Moore and Myron White and beloved sister to Kristina. She is an advocate for community and self-love. She is blessed and highly favored and continues to share her passion through her writing
